Just Catching Up...Again!!!!

I just wanted to check in with everyone for a second. I have been soooo behind because of unexpected mishaps, sick children. and a surprise trip to Pigeon Forge. I promise all will be caught up by the end of this week. My babies have been sick so I just loaded up my computer and worked mostly from home this weekend. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you have any questions, email me and I will get back to you ASAP. I hope you all have a great Christmas! I can't wait to see you again!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!!

I really hate to do this, but I wanted to let you all know that I am booked solid through the end of November and will have only limited availability in December. I am so thankful that my calendar is full but I have had to turn away a few already. I am taking the last two weeks of December off to spend at home with my children but will be back in the office and ready to roll January 6th. I hope this doesn't put a kink in your photo plans. Despite not taking individual appointments, I will still be available to book weddings. You can contact me through the website or give me a call. I will also continue to keep you up to date on my blod. Also, stop and check out the website over the next few days...I will loading several of my most recent weddings and don't want you to miss out!

Last Wedding of the Year!!!

I finished off my wedding calendar for the year this past Saturday and ,of course, had a ball! Jessica had more than one excuse to be my first bridezilla but responded to all of my mishaps with her beautiful and genuine smile. Thank goodness she shares the philosophy with me that the things that happen at weddings that are not planned or expected are what make the best memories. For example, beside the country church were beautiful trees and a majestic field of grass. I am always hypnotically drawn to fields of grass when I am with a bride. Anyway, we walk over and Jessica takes two steps into the field and a bush of "hitch hikers" jumps on the skirt and train of her beautiful white dress. I about had a heart attack. She laughed as we backed out slowly. I spent the next 20 minutes picking the little suckers off of her dress. A few of them left little dusty prints but thank goodness they were not visible with the natural eye. Jessica could have pitched a fit and fired me on the spot but instead she laughed and helped pick them off. She truly was beautiful and fabulous to work with. Trey (her hubby) wasn't bad either. Thanks so much to Ms. Amelia, Melissa (her sister and another one of my precious brides this season), and Jessica for making the end of my year so pleasant. I am so happy to have gotten to know you all and I am blessed to now have you all as my friends.

Autumn!!!

As you all know, autumn is the most wonderful and beautiful time of year! The leaves are amazing this year and I cannot get enough of them. I know this sounds a little quirky but every night the past two weeks, my husband, children, and I have built a fire outside and watched for shooting stars. Every night we have been out there we have seen at least two. My babies get so excited! Kendall, my youngest, will scream at the top of her lungs..."shooting tar!" God's creation is so wonderful and exact. I just wanted to write this quick little note so that if anyone is really reading it, they will take time to enjoy and truly experience the world around them. Don't just walk blindly! I hope you all have a great week!

Looking forward to this weekend!

Saturday will be my last official wedding for this year! I have had a ball spending time with each of the families I have met this past year! I am so blessed to be able to meet and get to know so many of you that I would not have otherwise met. I look forward to getting to know the brides and grooms for the next year as well.
This past weekend I got the pleasure of spending time with Jessica and Trey . They are my bride and groom for this Saturday. Jessica is the sister of one of my other brides from this year. (Can you imagine having two daughters marry in one year?) They are such a sweet couple and I know their wedding will also be so sweet and beautiful.
I want to once again offer my congratulations to all of the couples from this past year and thank you all for choosing me. Kyle and Leslie, Jamilla and Ruark, Dawn and Carl, Stephanie and Corey, Megan and Luke, De and Nathan, Melissa and Will, Mallory and Christopher, Sam and Clint, Jeanna and Chris, and last but not least, Jessica and Trey! I wish you all a lifetime of happiness!

I promise I am getting to you soon! I have one more wedding for this season and will be taking a very short break before the next season is up and roaring! I did have time this morning to post a snipet of one of the latest weddings in the "featured" section of my website. If you have time, stop by and take a look! I hope you all have a great week ...talk to you again soon!

Awesome time in Springhill, Alabama!

I just wanted to let everyone in Springhill (not exactly Eufala or Comer:0) that we had an awesome time being with you on Saturday...and a little bit of Sunday. The wedding honestly won the best guest title because NO ONE left! They ALL danced until the wee hours! We had a ball watching you and capturing it all! You all definitely got your money's worth out of the band and everything else. I hope we get the chance to be with you all again! Thank you for the memories...and Christopher..thanks for the new slogan!!! All of the pics will be up in a few weeks!

Eufala (Comer)...Here We Come Again!

Last Wednesday, my dear friend Ginger and I traveled to Eufala to take bridal portraits of Mallory. Well, believe it or not, we were early getting there. We looked around and scouted out the place and eventually found the overseer of the plantation. Ginger asked where we could get a Mountain Dew and he directed us back up the road to the Day and Night Grocery. This would not normally be odd, but when we drove by on the way in, the grocery looked abandoned. In fact we commented on how cute it was and how it was a shame that it was closed. Anyway, Phil, the overseer, said that this time a day it would be packed...(15 minutes after we had seen it abandoned). She and I got in the car and drove to "Day and Night" and to our great surprise it was packed. We got our picture made with the owners, Mr. & Mrs. Comer and Ginger got her picture in front of the store and with Mr. Bicycle. It was such a pleasure meeting everyone in Comer. This is why I love what I do so much. I have said it again and again. This job puts me in contact with people that otherwise I would never meet. I am so blessed! God has given me this desire and I hope that I honor Him on my travels as I carry out my job.

In about 30 minutes we are heading south again. The actual wedding is today at 6:00 and the day could not be more beautiful. This time, Mallory, we will not get attacked by wild horses and hopefully Ginger can stay out of the electric fence!

Awesome Weekend!! (My Feet Still Hurt)

I had the most wonderful time this weekend! I shot two weddings and like I said in the title, my feet still hurt! I got the extreme pleasure of doing Melissa and Will's wedding ,as well as, De and Nathan's wedding. The first wedding was at a small quaint church in Milton, Al. The ceremony was one of the sweetest I have ever heard. The way that Will looked at Melissa was priceless. You know that a man truly loves the woman he's with when you see how he looks at her. Will couldn't take his eyes off of Melissa for the rest of the day. Sweet, sweet, sweet! Every girl dreams of having someone look at her the way Will looks at Melissa. I wish you so much joy in the future.
De and Nathan had a beautiful ceremony as well. As usual, with both weddings, I got a little emotional! De and Nathan have been together for quite some time and to see them finally get married was precious. Their reception was also quite eventful! The fire alarm went off in the building before the reception got started good. We all had to evacuate the building and go across the street! We did get some awesome pics of De and the girls by the fire truck! By the way, for future reference, don't get ON the fire truck! We had a great time and I also wish De and Nathan many years of happiness!

I will post some preview pictures soon of both weddings! I'm a little behind so I promise I will get busy this week! I hope you all have a great week!

Featured Gallery...Kimberly & Joe

What can I say...we had so much fun. Kimberly brought her precious little dog, Saige, to the shoot in hopes of getting some pics with her. At our first destination, sweet little Saige locked herself ,as well as the keys, in the car. For those of you that know where I live, we were there but about five miles deeper into the woods, on a dirt road, down by the creek. Of course we had no cell service, well I take that back. We did have cell service if you stood on one leg, facing north, and held on to a tree limb. Anyway, loooong story short, after about an hour, my handy dandy brother Aden came and saved the day with a clothes hanger. Needless to say, the rest of the day Saige behaved perfectly. I think it scared her to death.
Joe and Kimberly were also great sports. If it had been my husband and the dog had locked the keys in the car, he could not have looked so peaceful in the pictures. In fact, we would have probably just gone home. So thank you Joe for being relaxed despite it all. You both were so much fun to work with! I wish you well with your marriage and I'll see you at Sam's wedding. Have a great week!

Song of the Day!

During the week of September 8th , I am sponsoring the "Song of the Day" on Mix 103. The studio will be mentioned on WSFA at 5:45 in the morning...yes I know, reeeallly early :0) and again throughout the day. If you are an early riser, tune in. They will play the song on Mix between the 8 and 9 o'clock hours. I am giving away a $65 gift certificate each day to the winner. This is just the beginning...I have even more to announce at the end of next week! I am having so much fun and can't wait for next week!

Welcome Blake!

I am so happy to announce that I have a new assistant! His name is Blake and he attends Marbury High School. He plans on attending Savana School of Art and Design next fall. He is such an awesome young man and has such potential in the art and photography field. He will be helping me with all of my weddings coming up and could not have come around at any better time. I look forward to teaching him the little I know and also learning from him. Welcome Blake...I am so glad to have you!

Featured Gallery....JT & Leanne

I had the extreme pleasure of photographing JT & Leanne from the Mix 103 morning show and their girls this past Saturday. They wanted to have their pictures taken with downtown Prattville as the backdrop. As usual, we had quite the 45 minute adventure. Their children were precious and of course I am a little biased because I also have three daughters. It was a sneak peek into my future! Each girl had such individual personalities and each one was so adorable! They were a ball to work with. JT & Leanne were also good sports despite the fact that Leanne hates mud :0) I just want to thank them for allowing me to spend time with them this weekend and for being so adventurous ! I look forward to working with them over the next few weeks. I'll let you in on more about that next Friday! You can check out a few of their pics in the "featured" section of my website. Have a great week!

Hurricane Winds

I know this sounds a little crazy, but I love the feel of hurricane winds. Not when it is pouring rain and horrible outside, but when the winds come on shore before the hurricane hits. Last night I was cooking chicken on the grill and it felt like heaven outside. I just stood out on my back patio and let the wind blow through my hair and watched the stars. I know I inherited this love of weather, in general, from my daddy. We are the only two people I know that love to just sit and watch the weather channel for long periods of time...over and over. When there is a tornado warning we put the children in a safe place and we go see where the weather is. If we know it is directly on us we get in the closet with the babies but until then, we have to watch it. Anyway, I know this has nothing to do with photography but I just wanted you all to know I was still here. I have been so busy the past few weeks I just haven't had time to post. The next few weeks I have some really exciting things going on. I will let you in on more of that at the beginning of next week. Also this week I will be posting more engagement and bridal pics of some of the weddings coming up. I am slam packed between now and the second week of November, which I am so happy about. I hope you all have a great week!

Featured Gallery....Sam & Clint

My dear friend Ginger introduced me to one of the sweetest couples I have ever met...Sam & Clint. I photographed their engagement pics yesterday and had the best time...as I do every time I do engagement shoots. It is so fun getting to know the couples before their wedding day. Sam & Clint were such good sports and did above and beyond everything I asked of them. Clint is an especially good poser :0) We got in the creek, sand, and under a bridge and much more. Thank goodness we didn't see any snakes, but we did see one black widow spider (yuk!). Anyway, we had a ball and just wait until you see Sam's beautiful hair. It is so not fair! I hope you enjoy them and have a great week!

Summer's Over....

Well, we stretched our summer out as far as we could. Our school start date was delayed last week because they had not finished remodeling the bathrooms. We got three extra days of summer that we all needed desperately. Saturday night, I got to spend time with some of my dearest friends in the world at my friend Virginia's house. We had the best time just running our mouths and eating yummy food. We tried to take advantage of every second of our three extra days. Last night about 8:00 we got off our friend's boat for our farewell to summer ride. It felt wonderful. Has it ever felt this good in August? To tell the truth, we could have used a sweater after the sun went down. It was so relaxing and peaceful. I just wanted to tell our friends John and Linda how much we appreciate the boat rides and sausage. Anyway, I hope you all have a great school year. I know that I am rested and ready to go.

Megan and Luke

As I promised, I have added a "featured" section on my website. This week I have chosen to feature Megan and Luke. I have posted just a few of my favorite pics from each of their sessions. Their wedding is now in less than a month so I chose to honor them first. They are getting married on Main Street, at the fountain, in our beautiful downtown Prattville on September 6th. We are so excited and just know this will be a wedding to remember. I hope you all have a great week and don't forget to check out the "featured" section and get a peek at the precious couple.

Featured Gallery

I just wanted to give you all a heads up for something very special. Beginning this Saturday, I will be posting different engagement sessions, bridal portraits, or wedding pics to my new "featured gallery" section of my website. Each week, I will post a different set of pics so you can get a glimpse of what is going on in my bridal world. I have such a blast spending time with each of the couples and I especially enjoy the sessions because I see them as an opportunity to get to know them before the big day. I have made some wonderful lifelong friends shooting weddings. Anyway, if you have time each week, take a peek at what we're up to. Let me know what you think.

The Love of My Family

Yesterday, I had the extreme pleasure of getting to sit with my cousin Kelley and have a peaceful conversation. We taught together for three years but rarely got sit for more than our 15 minute break and talk. Even during our breaks, we were still surrounded by over 100 teenagers. Anyway, we sent our children to my house yesterday and she and I got to sit and talk and laugh by the pool. After spending this precious time with her, I have realized something I have known all along. Wasting time on petty day to day worries shouldn't be what life is made of. Life is about loving the ones you are with and that love you back. I want to once again tell my family and dear, dear friends that although I don't get to sit for hours and talk with you as often as I would like that I love you all very much and our love for each other is worth it's weight in gold (quote by Kori). So today, I want to encourage the few that actually read this to love each other with all of your heart and in the end there will be no regrets.

Seniors, Seniors, Seniors!!!!

I just want to say hello to all of you seniors that I "shot" this past week. I have had such a busy but fun week with you all. I know each of you are going to be so successful and I am proud of each and every one of you...Raylin, Lynsey, Crystal, David, and Brittany. I cannot believe that each of you are already seniors. It seems like you all should still be in only the 9th grade. Anyway, I love you all.
Love,
Mrs. Bruner

I hope you all have enjoyed her & Ruark's pics as much as I have. To everyone else, thank you also. You have made my first week on my own amazing. See you soon & I hope you all have a great week.

Weddings By Spring Bruner opening August 1st!

Spring Bruner Photography has moved to a new location. Woo! Hoo! My studio will be located in the very peaceful Hunt's Alley. It is in the cutest place ever and a little off the beaten path. It's just like I have walked back in time everytime I go there. It has hardwood floors, walls, and ceilings and is perfect for my style of photography. I can't wait to shoot my first bride there next week. She will be gorgeous! Stop by and see me next time you are downtown.

Tiffany & Robert

My Tiffany and her husband Robert have had a really rough couple of weeks. In fact, probably the toughest I have ever witnessed. I just want Tiffany and Robert to know how much I care about them and that several times daily I am sending up prayers of comfort and peace. I love you both very much. For those of you out there reading this, please also pray with all of your heart for this family. They are some of the most wonderful people I have ever known. It hurts so bad to watch those you love while they are hurting and you can't do anything to make it better. Please take out a little time from your day and thank God for what you do have and especially pray for Tiffany & Robert's family as they journey through the following days.

Love, Spring B.

Corey & Steph, I Love You!

I was so fortunate to photograph Stephanie & Corey's wedding last Saturday. Stephanie is one of my former students and to see her grown up and married makes me so happy. Her wedding was held at Buena Vista in historic Prattville, Alabama. She made one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen. Her family and friends were also a complete joy to work with. Below is a sneak peak into her wedding day. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Beautiful Ben!

Yes, I do primarily shoot weddings but I still do children's pictures when it comes to past clients, friends, and family. This precious boy is my cousin April's little angel. He was three in October and taking after her cousin Spring, she is just now getting his three year pics made. I am so bad that I haven't officially taken my children's pictures since last year at the beach (Bad Mama). So April is doing pretty well.

We had such a wonderful time doing these pictures. Ben is sooooo sweet and beautiful, as you will see. He was doing such a good job but it wasn't until his Papa Rick got there that his face truly lit up.

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I was never blessed with a sister of my own, so my cousins are the closest thing that I have had to a sister relationship. I don't get to see them as often as I would like to but it does make it even more special when we do get time to spend together.

I love you April, Carol, Michelle, and Kelley! I hope to see you all again soon!

These pictures were taken at our Great Aunt Kathryn's home in Statesville.

Here is Ben when he saw Papa Rick driving up in his car! Look how his little eyes just light up!

Here is Ben with his Papa Rick.

Just Catching Up!

I have a lot of catching up to do. We have been so busy but having a ball! My computer has been in the hospital for a while and I have just got it up and running. I want to start out with an absolute wonderful couple, Ruark and Jamila. This is the couple whose wedding I did in Chicago a few weeks ago.

Their love story is truly, truly amazing. Try to bear with me as I tell their wonderful story in the condensed version.

Their families were friends when they were young and they grew up together. It was not until their high school years that they began to date. At the end of Jamila's senior year her parents were forced to move because of her father's job. She remained in Chicago and lived with Ruark's family until she began college in the fall.

When she got ready to officially go to college, Ruark broke up with her so she could experience the college life without worrying about him. They each went their separate ways and didn't see each other again until about 20 years later. Jamila was living in North Carolina and was sent back to Chicago with her job. As soon as she got to Chicago she felt the undying desire to call Ruark up and ask him to meet her for lunch (after all it had been soooo many years since she had seen him). She got the guts up to call him but he was sick with the flu and couldn't meet her. Jamila called her brother and told him how disappointed she was that she couldn't see him. Her brother told her if she REALLY wanted to see him, she would go see him. Jamila agreed and drove straight to Ruark's house. As soon as she saw him and his beautiful family, she asked herself, "what have I been doing with my life?" She knew that he was the one she was supposed to be with forever. Ruark also felt the same about her. He had never married. He had been waiting on her and now she was here.

They have been together since. Their wedding was at the beginning of May and was one of the most beautiful and most meaningful ceremonies I have ever seen. Please take time and look at some of my favorite shots.

Only 30 More Days!

I don't know how many of you have children out there, but I have three busy and beautiful girls. Every year my Daddy and Mama take the entire family to the beach. When I say entire family I mean Daddy, Mama, my hubbby, my three girls, my brother A., his wife and his two children, my brother T and his girlfriend. We ALL stay in one big room and have a blast! Anyway, my Daddy and my children begin the beach countdown in January every year. It gives them something to look forward to after Christmas. I am so happy we are now within a month of the trip. During the last few weeks of waiting, Daddy will begin to plan our meals and download coupons from restaurants off the Internet (the Oyster House is his all time favorite-- you get so much for you money:0). He will also start vacuum sealing every piece of meat he owns to take down there to put on the grill. During this last month Mama will also go shopping and buy Daddy the famous white shirt. It really makes me laugh every year because she buys the exact same white shirt and Daddy wears it practically every night. I don't know why she even packs anything else. Every now and then she will throw in a color or two, but she doesn't vary in the style. We have so many memories and jokes that will carry on with us for the rest of our lives. I hope that you make the best of every second you have with your family. My parents are the best and I am so blessed to have been a part of their lives!

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings

This week has been awesome! I must admit that I have been a little nervous quitting my 9 to 5. But as usual, God took over and let me know that everything was going to be great! I have booked four weddings just this week and tentatively three more. My Autumn and Winter calendar have almost filled up completely. I am so excited and am looking forward to the weddings I have booked this summer as well as the ones later in the year. I have the absolute best job in the world! Every Saturday when I go to work, I get to meet bunches of new people and experience love at it's finest. It can't get any better than this!

Hello Daddy & Friends at IP

I just wanted to say hello to my biggest fan and to the best daddy in the world, Mike T. (aka. Blue Gill for all of you at IP). No one admires my photography or promotes it more than Daddy. One day, when I make it really big, I am going to make him head of advertising. Keep up the good work. I love you Daddy!

Last Week of School

For those of you who do not know, I also teach school. I taught 7th, 8th, and 9th grade science this past year. I have decided not to return next year and to work full time at the new studio. Thank goodness we only have three days left. For those of you out there that are teachers, you know the pain I am going through during these last days. The children have literally lost their minds and are just as ready as I am to begin their summer. Anyway, hats off to all of you who are teachers or parents of teenagers. Your job is tougher than any other on the planet!

Blank Canvas opening soon!

As many of you already know, we are opening our new studio, Blank Canvas on Main Street in Prattville. What you may not know is that the ribbon cutting will be on Tuesday, June 3rd. We also have many other festivities planned for that week. We are so excited and I am so blessed to be able to work with the two most creative people I have ever known, Tiffany Hughes and Stacey Little. If you don't believe me, come in and look at our cinder block display. Yes, gray, spider webby cinder blocks. It is truly lovely, believe it or not. We also have the cutest sitting area EVER, under a crystal chandelier. It has all come together reflecting each of our carefree personalities and it feels like home to us. If you happen to be walking down Main Street in Prattville, please stop by and see us. We will have coffee every morning so come in and visit with us under our beautiful chandelier!

Beach Sessions for June

Busy, Busy, Busy

My plane arrived late on Sunday night because of weather delays so I have not been able to get the pics uploaded from the reception. Tonight my mission is to go home and get them ready for you to see them. We are in our last week of school (I am a teacher-7th, 8th, and 9th grade science, for those of you that didn't know) preparing for exams and I have had nooooo time, even with my children. Thank you for being patient with me.

Governor Riley Reception

Okay, last post for the day. I just wanted to let everyone from the Legacy reception with the governor, that the pics will be posted by next Monday, May 12. We have had a very busy week with our sneak peek opening of our studio for City Fest and both Tiffany and I are going out of town for different projects this week. By Monday we should have them posted and available for purchase. Thank you so much for being patient with us during this huge transition period. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email.

City Fest

We were so happy that so many of you stopped by to see us despite the yucky weather on Saturday. It was such a joy to meet all of you. We are so excited and so happy to finally be opening up. Remeber, we will not be officially open until the first week of June but if you need us before then we will be glad to meet you there. We look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Leaving on A Jet Plane

I am so excited for this weekend to finally get here! I am going to Chicago for a destination wedding! I am also very nervous because I have a slight fear of flying, especially in yucky weather. And to add to my fear, the forecast shows a storm for Thursday that stretches from Prattville up to Chicago. Woo! Hoo! I have been praying hard for my nerves to be settled for this trip. I know it will be fine. It is only a two hour flight.

Anyway, the couple I am going to photograph is beautiful and equally as beautiful is their love story. I will tell you more about their story next week when I return with the photos. We are going to have a blast. Two of my dearest friends in the world are going with me, Susan and Ginger. No telling what we will get into way up there! Pray for me, pleeeaaase!
